Laboratories are erected on unused plains. At least one laboratory is needed to access the research areas. Each laboratory produces science points depending on its expansion level. About 45 (level I) to 180 (level X) people are needed on the field to allow the utilisation of a laboratory.

The research is a key factor in the game. It is advisable to build a research house right away at the beginning and to complete the research as fast as possible.
